The uninitiated to Kuala Lumpur’s bars are often lured by the song of the hostess sirens, forever singing, “Happy hour. Buy 3 get 3!” or whatever the promotion is that week. Too often a passerby will crash into the metaphorical rocks and find themselves washed up into the bar doldrums, forever drinking swill and wondering if there is anything more?

“Food for the body is not enough. There must be food for the soul.”

But there is more! Fuego is on the cool side of Kuala Lumpur. On any given night, the vibe is one of happiness and cheer with the crowd (a perfect mix of trendy locals and expats) often boasting both stunning panoramic views of KL City Centre

You will not see a hostess standing out front with a menu in hand, singing that sad old song, trying to lure guests inside. This is Fuego, this is the place to be! The many regulars at Fuego KL attest to its popularity and continued success.

The menu at Fuego KL is a little mixture of all the specialities of Latin America, but not only. Tonight we are here to eat the best guacamole of our life (really), amazing ceviches, and best tacos in town ! And we are not disappointed. We are even surprised by some creative items in the menu like : the fresh Corn on the Cob ‘Elote’, the Grilled watermelon and the delicious chermoula chicken. And, before ordering all your food, please, keep in mind that you should keep some place for their amazing desserts ! We tried the churros and we loved it !

The evening began with a well-known cocktail but not the same recipe “The Fuego Mojito” (RM44). This is a surprising mojito with rum Instant Infused with Lychee, Chilli, Mint & Lime, and trust us, the best way to start the night 😉

Then, all our choices were very fresh in taste and nicely presented, where the Fuego Whiskey Sour came in a tin cup and decorated with a cob. But winner of presentation was the Barrel Aged Negroni, served in a pocket flask hidden away inside a large book. The cocktail is light and pleasantly balanced, making it great for sipping during a light meal.

Besides having great products – welcoming setting, tasty menu and value-for-money drinks – the extraordinary hospitality of the staff make Fuego at Troika a must-visit. Gracious in their service, staff was also top notch, friendly and also informative about what was served. We can only highly recommend a visit to Fuego at Troika Sky Dining, partly for the lovely view and the fun, relaxed and vibrant atmosphere, but mostly for the amazing food.
